At FUTURE ECOLOGY we pride ourselves in providing high quality cost effective ecological survey and assessment, and quick response and project turn-around times for our clients.

We take on any project large or small but specialise in work associated with renewable energy production and transmission.

We provide the following specific services:

  • Ecological, botanical, fauna & threatened species surveys
  • Assessments of significance for threatened species issues listed under the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act and/or the Commonwealth Environment Protection & Biodiversity Conservation Act
  • Prepare EIA, REF & SIS
  • Provide expert advice on ecological, threatened species and ecological restoration matters
  • Supervise and audit contractors for compliance with approved ecological plans, CEMPs etc
  • Ecological restoration / weed management planning and advice
  • Write habitat restoration plans, ecological restoration plans, threatened species management plans, contractor and construction environmental management plans
  • Ecological and threatened species report review and advice
  • Mitigation measures
  • GIS mapping and production
  • CEMP production, review, implementation and auditing
  • Ecological induction, supervision and auditing of projects and contractors
  • Review of ecological impacts associated with all types of development proposals
  • NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) and Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) applications
History

Garon Staines founded Pygmy Possum Ecological Consulting in 2003 and then it became a private company in 2005. The trading name changed from Pygmy Possum to Future Ecology in June 2013. Garon worked solo for a few years and then from around 2009 expanded to the small team that is Future Ecology today.

Garon Staines is a professional member of the Ecological Society of Australia (ESA), the Ecological Consultants Association of NSW (ECA) and the Australian Association of Bush Regenerators (AABR). Garon is also an OEH accredited Biobanking Assessor & Biodiversity Certifier.

Danielle Allen is a professional member of the Ecological Society of Australia (ESA).
